InDesign v. Quark

So I decided to download the 3-day trial version of Quark Xpress and try it out. It is very similar to InDesign, just really clunky and it takes longer to do some things here than it does in InDesign. Anyway, to test it out, I decided to try recreating the front page of the March issue of the Mount Observer in Quark. The top image is the original page, which I designed in InDesign, and the bottom one is the new one, made in Quark Xpress. Let me know what you think.

  1. I see a lot of ragged edges in the bottom text. I prefer straight aligned text as shown above.

  2. Tom – this looks like a done design, especially since you have justified the type now. Good for you to dive into Quark - apparently a few companies are using it still.
