Reworks and some new projects
I know this is a lot to post at once but any feedback on any of these would be great its late in the year and i'm sure all of you are super busy so no worries either way.
Justin – I have a few suggestions, working from top to bottom:
Top – is done
The universe is wider… unless the baselines for that type at top and bottom mirror (or echo) the shape of the eye ellipse, this doesn’t seem done. I suggest you draw an ellipse on its own layer in Illustrator with the eye directly in the middle. Find the right shape that will leave an equal amount of negative shape between the eye and the line. Then place your top line on the baseline. Copy the ellipse in the exact same place (on top of itself), and place the type along the bottom, and pull it to the outside of the line. You know how to do this? Ask me in class, and I’ll show you.
“We all believed in ourselves. It was a matter of confidence and that creates a fine line between winning and losing.” I found this quote online, because it didn’t seem to make sense in your design. It is TWO sentences, please fix. Also – the type is crashing into the edges of the format and crashing into his head. You have plenty of vertical space to fix that. Make sure this quote fits well in that space – look at the negative space around it and try to “cushion” it with an equal amount on all sides.
Do You Believe in Miracles? The figures are sitting on top of the last word – making it hard to read. I suggest you actually enlarge that bunch of hockey players, but pull it down onto the flag. Allow it to overlap the word just a tad… enough to introduce some “depth” to the page, but not enough to interfere with the readability.
What Happened? – is done
Boston Bruins – I’m not sure you should style the black bar with red type under the heading… is there another way to include this type in a more readable manner? Red on black is not easily read.
