Here is the new psa for Design Theory. With this project in general, I was intrigued by the idea that according to the statistics there had to be a large number of people at the college parties who had no desire to be there at all.  I informed the viewer of the image in the subtitle/body copy to reinforce the idea provided by the title and image: an emergency situation from which no one breaks away. The title is also a metaphor for refusing alcohol abuse.

  1. A very different approach to the original idea; I like it. If I were to make a suggestion, I'd say to look into playing with different font combinations (you may already be in the process of doing that), since right now it all appears to be one plain font throughout all of the design. I think the placement of the text works to frame the image nicely.

  2. Tom – I understand the message, but it’s because I took the time to read it. Is there a way to express your message visually too? I think so – if the composite were a tad clearer. Which means, that I’m going to suggest you drop the facts that sit on the glass at bottom center to make room for that image. Honestly, the facts are quite confusing… and I don’t believe you need them to make your point. We are all very aware of the issue for this age group. If it was deleted, you could work on finding a way to make that glass look MORE like a beer glass, and allow that young man’s body to show through the foam a bit… so we easily can see his whole image… helping the visual message be crystal clear. It is a GREAT idea – placing this image inside a beer glass… now make sure we can all see it.
