I think the placement of the text works, thought I might try playing around with the "-Maya Angelou" credit's location. Also, grammar-wise, I think "someones" should maybe be "someone's." Otherwise, I enjoy the background as well; sort of a "soda-pop" vibe that works with the bottle in his hand. Good work!
Yes I agree with your comments. The image above shows more than the actual illustration so there is no extra space beyond "Try and Cloud" however, I am sure I can place the credits in a better location.
Krysta – the only place I can see for the by-line is on the same line with the quote… so keep her name the same size, and place on the same line. I expect that you’ll need to consider the way the type is distorted on that curved baseline so it fits well in the space above his head. Portrait – if you were to add a bit a shadow around his left eye (actually, it would be his right eye) this portrait could be done! Yeah!
