Originally was a Design Theory project, for a PSA
Environmental Connections which we had to design a logo, magazine add and a web
banner for. This is my web banner from that project, My PSA target audience was
teens, and my approach was a combo
between irony and humor. Pointing fun at the fact that our actions effect our
environment and our health. Yet we continue to pollute our home.
Have any suggestions please comment, and happy Monday
Carl – it’s nice to see this come around again. Here are some suggestions:
ReplyDeleteDrop the logo, it takes up important room that you need for other elements.
Move the read headline over to the left (where the logo was) and into the middle of the composition. This is important, and is what we should read first.
Enlarge the trash monster enough for us to see him, and his shape. You might need to bleed him off the bottom of the banner, which would be ok because it is his face that we need to see above that pink arrow that leads us to the globe. Another approach could also be to stroke his shape, to get him to separate from the black background.
In the bottom yellow type, please use “THE TRASH MONSTER” in place of “HE”.
Then look carefully at the composition, making adjustments for the success of the piece. Look at it Carl, and ask yourself what the reader will see. In fact, look at it in a mirror – and for a few moments you will not recognize it… allowing you to see it with fresh eyes.
After you have finished with this web banner, consider how to repurpose this design for other uses... expanding this into a "campaign".
