Doing less can sometimes result in a more successful design. You need to ask yourself... "why am I introducing this contrast to my design." And if you can't answer that question, then you probably shouldn't do it.
The separation from the illustration and choice of typeface for the rest of the quote from wilderness cements the idea that they are different. Pulling the last words together will help, and I think the leading could be tightened a bit as well. Pulling that final block of words a bit closer to the illustration will make unify it by proximity as well.
